Currently in production. Sean Suozzi and Ellen Bar, two soloists from the New York City Ballet, are creating a modern film adaptation of Jerome Robbins′ 1958 ″jazz ballet″, NY Export: Opus Jazz, in collaboration with Supermarche Productions (Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman) and award-winning cinematographer Jody Lee Lipes. Shot on location all over New York City in the street clothes of today, ″Opus Jazz, The Film″ takes the ballet off the stage and out of the ′50s, reminding us of what is timeless about Robbins′ work and what is universal about the experience of urban youth. ″Opus Jazz″ is the first film directed and danced by New York City Ballet dancers with Jerome Robbins′ choreography and is set for a 2008 release to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Opus Jazz and Jerome Robbins′ 90th birthday. http://www.opusjazz.com/

The Città di Spoleto, with the support of The Jerome Robbins Foundation, will honor Mr. Robbins with a permanent sculptural installation on the terrace of the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto, Italy in recognition of Mr. Robbins fundamental and sustaining relationship with the Town and the Festival dei Due Mondi. One of the founding artists of the festival in 1958, Mr. Robbins choreographed his ballet ″N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz″ specifically for the festival and likewise, the following year, his ballet ″Moves″. Both of these ballets as well as iconic figures from his Broadway career will be represented in a sculptural work by Robin Heidi Kennedy which will include a life-size statue of Mr. Robbins. The presentation of the work on La Terrazza Jerome Robbins of the Teatro Nuovo is tentatively scheduled for summer 2009. www.robinheidikennedy.com/wip/index.html
